Week #2 of Wednesdays in the Woods

Greetings everyone!

The last 2 Wednesdays we met in the Leise Park in Prenzlauer berg/ Friedrichshain.
Here is a little hand drawn map of the actual location inside of the park.

The meeting spot is always on one of the wooden stages, that are scattered around this beautiful park.  It may not be the same one every time though.  Some little girls had hijacked the one we used last week to use as their flower arrangement table, and there are no lack of flowers in this park.

Here is a little peak at what our "summer club" looks like!

Every week we have an activity which is focused on collecting stuff from the woods and making cool things from them - sort of like a scavenger hunt meets art attack :)

Of course kids will be kids!

Then it's time to join in some singing along, dancing and prancing with our band
As you can see, there are tonnes of shady trees and lots of space to run around and practice your dance moves!

Hope to see you all again next week and feel free to spread the word to your friends!!

Wednesdays in the Woods!......We are moving to the great outdoors from May till September

Greetings Moms and Dads,

We have an exciting announcement at TGIF!  Summer is coming and we are moving our TGIF event outdoors to make the most of the long daylight hours, warm and sunny weather that is coming our way.

Here is a description of what you can expect at Wednesdays in the Woods:

Every Wednesday @4:30-5:30 pm  (weather permitting) we will meet in a park in the area of Prenzlauer berg/Friedrichshain

4:30-5 pm: We start with a fun activity (like a scavenger hunt or a nature-inspired art project)

5-5:30 pm: Sing along, dancing and prancing with our guest musicians

How do I join the club?

Each child will get a club card which is purchased at the first event you attend for 10 Euros

Once you have a card, you are in the club and every other event you attend will cost 5 Euros

Each time you attend, your child will get a sticker to put on his/her club card, when you collect the 8th sticker there will be a special surprise! :)

The club card will look something like this (this one is for my daughter!)

Scavenger hunts and nature inspired art projects

Our first event will be this Wednesday May 4th at the Leise Park located on Heinrich-Roller-Straße, 10405 Berlin
It is an amazing park and here is a link to read more about it

Check our facebook page www.facebook.com/fridayfunforkids or fridayfunforkids.blogspot.de for more information and updates on all of our events

Please let me know if you will be interested in joining us for Wednesdays in the Woods!

Our Final February Friday - Feb. 26th, 4:30-5:30pm, Wichertstrasse 52, Prenzlauer berg

Time is flying  by and we are nearing our last February Friday.  The new space for TGIF is working out amazing and the kids are clearly loving it.  Just an FYI ... there is a full kitchen where you can help yourself to water or a tea, lots of coat hanging space and shoe racks, and of course the bathroom is right there also.

This week I decided to go with some Dr. Seuss Silliness, after all what child doesn't love these books...I've quite a few so will pick the ones that  will keep the kids giggling while learning :)

Please don't forget to  RSVP to TGIFberlin@gmail.com if you would like to join us this Friday!

What, Where and When....

Our new amazing space @ Wichertstrasse 52, the Learning Center Prenzlauer Berg!

We are moving to a new venue as of February 12th, 2016.  I was fortunate enough to find a beautiful space ideal for our event in a centrally located area of Prenzlauer Berg that is easily accessible by tonnes of public transport (S-bahn, M2 tram and 156 Bus to Prenzlauer Allee ; M12 tram to Hummanplatz; S-bahn, U2, M1 tram, N2 bus to Schonhauser Allee) all within a few minutes walk to the Learning Center Prenzlauer Berg @ Wichertstrasse 52.

The room is bright and cheerful while also cozy and comfortable.  These happy crab cushions are just adorable,  I know we will be happy here!

The venue is very easy to find as it is on the ground floor (EG) in the front building (Vorderhaus).
